Region: Alsace, France

Varietal: 100% Riesling

Tasting Notes: Delightful at the nose with aromas of white blossoms and notes of lime. Shows a fine, delicate entry and a nice concentration mid-palate. Offers a wonderful combination of crisp , ripe acidity and a fine minerality. Juicy with a long lingering finish. This Riesling is very flexible food wise and pairs beautifully with any steamed shellfish linguini alle vongole, Crayfish salad and grilled fish drizzled with lime. Also pairs well with goat cheeses.

Producer: At the foot of the picturesque Schlossberg hill in Alsace, surrounded by vines and roses, sits the historic Domaine Weinbach. Named after the stream that runs through the property, the estate’s winemaking roots stretch back to the 9th century. It was officially founded by Capuchin friars in 1612, and after changing hands during the French Revolution, the Faller family took ownership in 1898. Today, Catherine Faller and her sons carry on the family legacy, producing exceptional wines with a deep commitment to organic and biodynamic practices. The Domaine Weinbach Riesling 2021 continues this tradition, delivering a pure and elegant expression of Alsatian winemaking, nurtured by centuries of expertise.

Vineyard & Winemaking: The Riesling 2021 is sourced from the valley of Kaysersberg, where the sandy, silt-laden soils over granite pebbles help create wines of vibrant aromatics and powerful concentration. The grapes, handpicked at peak ripeness, are gently pressed before fermenting with indigenous yeasts, adding depth and complexity. Aged for eight months in neutral oak, the wine captures the full character of the terroir, displaying a balance of freshness, acidity, and subtle minerality. With a nod to the past and a firm eye on sustainability, Domaine Weinbach’s Riesling 2021 is a tribute to both nature and tradition.
